I avoid using any game mechanic altering mods such as the traffic managers, Rush Hour or mods that fiddle with the Cim aging or behaviour. There will also be a set of building mods that help with better placement and detailing.Īs for permanently on mods, there is the Improved Content Panel, Less Steam and Loading screen mods to aid in loading the game and maps. I'll also have a set of 'forensic' mods to help isolate and pin down problems. Most of the time I have particular sets of utility mods that I use on an ad hoc basis as the need requires and then remove them.įor example, I'll have my terraforming mods together with mods that enable me to manipulate anything on the map and beyond the tilable build area. This of course not only requires a good memory but an intimate knowledge of what these mods and combinations are capable of. I usually select which mods I will require for a certain city build and remember them. I have 146 mods at the moment, but I rarely if ever enable all of them at the same time. Many of the achievement tasks are more easily accomplished in a fresh city build and so you can build several vanilla cities to get them all.
